Junior Production Engineer

Cubik Innovation is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic, energetic Junior Production Engineer with an interest specifically in Testing of Electronic Assemblies to join our expanding, highly successful Production Team.

The successful candidate will be able to take a hands-on approach to the Testing of Electronic PCBs, specifically functionality testing, user acceptance testing, fault finding and rework.

They will also be familiar with the assembly of PCBs and be able to comply with IPC, ESD and company standards.

What do you need?

  • Completed a relevant degree level course
  • Or have 2 years relevant experience
  • Have a basic understanding of electronics
  • Have a knowledge of production process such as;
    • Testing procedures
    • Functionality Testing
    • Fault Finding
    • Automated and Manual SMT Assembly
    • Through-hole assembly

Technical Project Manager

Cubik Innovation is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, excellent communicator to join the team as a Technical Project Manager. The role will look for a candidate who has a technical understanding of software and/or electronic hardware design and development.

The Technical Project Manager forms a critical interface between the customer and the Cubik Team on multiple projects at any given time. The individual selected for these roles will work closely with all aspects of the Cubik Team to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

What do you need?

  • Completed a relevant degree level course
  • An excellent understanding of the product design cycle
  • An excellent understanding of the project life cycle
  • An understanding of electronic design and manufacture, including hardware and software
  • A good understanding of PRINCE2 and Agile Project Management Systems
  • Microsoft projects/Gantt Charts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with customers and team members
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • To efficiently manage your workload
  • Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills
  • To work across disciplines/departments (software/production) and incorporate their requirements into the project requirements
  • An ability to knuckle down when needed
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment
  • Freely share knowledge, insight, best practice and ideas

Principle Electronics Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Electronics engineer to join our design department to assist with our continuing growth. The Principle Electronics Engineer role will involve some design aspects but will also include problem solving, support of the other design engineers in the team and support of the project management, sales and quotation / bid preparation.

The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of all aspects of Electronic product design including analogue electronics, embedded systems, PCB design, integration and mechanical skills. They will have great problem solving skills and be team-centric.

What do you need?

  • Completed a relevant degree level course and hold at least 10 years in industry
  • Or have at least 10 years’ relevant experience
  • Have a great knowledge of electronics including:
    • Analogue design
    • Mixed signal design
    • Embedded systems
    • Embedded software techniques and implementation
    • PCB design
  • Mechanical & enclosure integration
  • Application software skills an advantage
  • Have a knowledge of production process such as;
    • Production testing procedures
    • Functionality Testing including built in test

Our primary tools are Altium designer, Solidworks, Microchip MPLAB, Keil. Some experience with these tools would be an advantage.

Senior Software engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer at Cubik Innovation you will be working on a number live projects for a variety of customers, developing and designing systems geared towards revolutionising a huge range of industry sectors.

You will prioritise your workload, seek excellence through high quality workmanship and actively mentor and support your fellow team members, enabling best practice and the continual improvement of Cubik’s Design services.

Our Senior Engineers are hard-working, knowledgeable and driven, with the ability to work alongside the wider teams within the business to ensure projects are delivered both on-time and in-budget. 

What do you need?

  • Completed relevant degree level qualification and have 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Or have 8 years relevant experience
  • 5 years low level embedded C development experience.
  • Experience with full product development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with microprocessor architectures and peripherals (Ideally Microchip)
  • Experience in board level driver development in particular with various serial protocols (i.e UART, I2C, SPI).
  • Experience with developing OTA comms protocols. (i.e Command Interfaces, Bootloaders).
  • Experience with managing software version control methods.
  • To deliver relevant software design documentation throughout the development life cycle. Use standard software design tools to illustrate software designs. (i.e UML, flow charts, Hierarchy diagrams etc... ).
  • Some experience with PC application development. Microsoft Visual Studio C# / C++
  • Actively support and train engineers.
  • Have a deep knowledge of:
    • Hardware design (schematics, PCB layout)
    • Production (assembly, functional and system testing)
  • Have a deep understanding of legacy and current systems

Sales & Marketing Assistant

Cubik Innovation are currently looking to recruit a Sales and Marketing Assistant to complement our growing team.

We are a unique electronic product design consultancy, with the capability to work across design, software, prototype, and production, enabling our customers to take their concepts all the way to market from our HQ in Fishponds, Bristol. We work with customers ranging from local inventors and entrepreneurs to SMEs and academic institutions right up to large, international corporations.

Cubik’s growth has been unprecedented, with a strong team of 20. We are now looking for an individual to join this team to help us reach out to our customer base. This role is part time; we are estimating 2 ½ days per week but this is flexible. The role will lean more towards sales for generating new business opportunities.

The daily role will be a varied one and will include by not limited to:

  • Overseeing the companies outgoing marketing -  digital media and paper copy.
  • Updating all social media platforms as the voice of the company.
  • Assisting with email campaigns.
  • Searching for opportunities to develop new business opportunities.
  • Organising and planning trade shows.
  • Searching out and contacting potential new customers.
  • Developing the company reach to new customers of various sizes.
  • Maintaining the company contact list.
  • Attending networking events.
  • Analytics and reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Self-starter.
  • Innovative and start-up savvy.

Salary will be dependent on experience and working hours.
