Metryx
Metryx mass metrology on product wafer measurement, low cost of ownership, high RoI and atomic level repeatability…
At the heart of Metryx business is the Metryx mentor range, which is an in-line process monitoring solution that rapidly identifies production wafer trends and excursions. Monitoring the mass change for any process step is an effective in-line check, revealing the true wafer mean, while flagging the bad wafers.
Key features of Metryx Mass Metrology tools include;
- On-Product Measurement
- Non-invasive
- Atomic level accuracy
- Applicable to all process modules – deposition, etch and CMP, on metals and dielectrics
- High throughout in-line solution
- Self-contained corroboration of metrology result
- No monitor wafers or test sites required
- Low CoO
- User friendly software with recipe editing and configuration user security.
In 2002, Metryx started to sell its unique mass metrology technology to semiconductor manufacturers. Today that technology is in volume production all over the world helping Fabs to ramp production wafers quicker than at any other time before. Their system is helping Fabs running at capacity to make sure their process is running at an optimal level.
Mass metrology provides a unique measurement of the mass change resulting from any process step. Mass change is a fundamental measurement of the change induced on a wafer by a process step.
Metryx first approached Cubik Innovation in 2014, with the need for a design alteration to an existing product. The block of design work included a prototype run of the PCBs used in the product. The success of the design alteration block of work that was carried out, has meant that Cubik have undertaken many different projects for Metryx including the up issue and ongoing batch build of a set of 13 different PCBs.

During the beginning of 2016 Metryx approached Cubik with a new block of work that they hoped Cubik could assist with. This was the procurement, assembly and test of a set of Electrical and Mechanical products, an example of these is shown above. These products had been designed by Metryx and up until this point had been assembled in small quantities either in house or with another supplier. Metryx was looking for a new partner to help with larger assembly batches.
Cubik were already supplying their PCBs and were well placed to provide the necessary skills needed for the assembly project. Cubik has to date delivered over 60 complete assemblies and hopes this is an ongoing partnership between Metryx and Cubik.
