Electronic Products for a broad range of sectors
Unique product, unique challenge
Working with inventors, entrepreneurs and SME’s brings a variety of projects to Cubik Innovation, but sometimes there can be a more unusual request which the team can get stuck into.
Creative thinking is an area that Cubik relish, particularly when an idea needs to be executed quickly with little information to work from.
London based advertising agency Lean Mean Fighting Machine approached Cubik with a rather unusual and urgent challenge. Having proposed to their client a camera attachment to be mounted on a hair-spray can for London Fashion Week, they rapidly needed the idea executed and in use on location within three weeks as part of an advertising campaign.
With only hand-drawn sketches and basic prototypes using hacked cameras, the team at Cubik quickly established the products essential functions and aesthetic feel. Establishing clear lines of communication, a project work plan and opportunities for quick design revisions, the project progressed rapidly.
With the assistance of approved partners in the local South West region, Cubik was able to incorporate visual branding considerations on time and in multiples.
The completed product can be attached and exchanged between each canister quickly allowing for ease of use by the stylists whilst at the same time capturing the excitement and behind the scenes action of the event.
The product was used successfully at London Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week 2013 by the client.
Spray Cam demonstrates perfectly not only the expert knowledge and skills the Cubik team have but the resources of the local electronics industry to complete a project when required.

The project is a great success and produced valuable information even from its first use. I am very impressed with the support Cubik provided me throughout the project, from initial concept through to PCB delivery. I will not hesitate to engage with them again as future PCB projects arise.”
