On the 10th and 11th of September, Cubik joined 28 local businesses to showcase their products and services at Venturefest Oxford, held at Brookes University Oxford. Having visited the show previously, we decided that this year was our year to get involved – and it did not disappoint.
The annual event aims to bring together investors, innovators and entrepreneurs and provide them with a platform to make connections that will lead to new ideas and new businesses. Originally set up in 1998, the show is now in its 21st year and has continued to expand year on year. As well as the main exhibition, delegates also had the opportunity to attend a programme of live talks, expert panels and workshops, the Technology and Innovation Showcases and visit the Entrepreneurship Village.
From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere at Venturefest was on point and we had a fantastic day full of interesting conversations with delegates and our fellow exhibitors. It was a great opportunity to meet new businesses and find out more about what’s happening in Oxford.
Throughout the show we had a steady stream of visitors to our stand all keen to get a look at our manufacturing machinery in action. Using Cubik’s trusty Pick and Place Machine and Reflow Oven, Paul and Dan manufactured our interactive business cards giving delegates a glimpse into a traditional PCB production line and a chance to pocket one for themselves.
Designed by Junior Engineer, Shannon Cribb, the cards are programmed with a challenging LED game that gets quicker and more complicated each time you complete a level. It’s also very addictive! If you picked one up, we’d love to hear how you’re getting on. Let us know what level you’ve reached by tweeting us @CubikInnovation
This month, we debut our brand-new exhibition stand at the South Gloucestershire Business Showcase on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 October. Pop by stand GA5 to say hello and look at our new set up – we’re pretty excited about it!
